Forgotten Friday 27 - Fairyopolis

Time once again for Forgotten Friday, how the weeks seem to be flying by, it does not seem possible that we are already over half way through the year. I've been moving things about in my Craft Room this week, and I came across 6 different decoupage from Crafters Companion, Fairyopolis CDs, that I printed and cut out when the CDs first came out and for some reason did not get around to putting them onto cards. So these defiantly qualify for the Forgotten Friday challenge over on Judith's blog. I started by using a large square card base for this card, then printed off a couple of the backing papers from the CD that matched the Poppy Fairy. I mounted these onto gold mirri card, and added some ribbon. The finished decoupage is also mounted onto gold mirri card, I finished the card with two corners cut from a Marianne die.

CD Sunday - Dreams

The challenge over on the CD Sunday blog this week is Dreams. I instantly found myself reaching for Joanna Sheens Enchanted Dreams CD, there are so many beautiful dreamy images to choose from. The only problem being was which one to choose. In the end I went with this image of a sleeping mermaid from the "By The Sea" section. What I love about these images are, there is so much going on in the picture, you find something new every time you look at them. For this card I have used a large square card base, made from 2 A4 sheets of white card stock. I mounted the topper and the backing paper onto some green mirri card, added some peridot coloured gems to the sides. The ribbon, which is a beautiful pale green colour, has in the photo, come out looking more yellow. When in fact in real life it looks a far better match. The sentiment was printed on a laser printer and then put through the foiling machine with a green coloured foil to match. Again like last week I made this card with someones birthday in mind and as I type this it is already in the post.

Forgotten Friday 26 - House Mouse

It's Friday once again, and time for a rummage to see what I have not used for a while. This week I found this House Mouse stamp which I bought last year. Although I used some of the stamps that I bought from this range, this one had not been used before. I stamped onto some white card stock and coloured the image using promarkers. I then used a memento ink pad, Cantaloupe coloured to give it a bit a glow around the edges. The backing paper is from MCS Papercraft Library, Volume 10 Winter Whimsies, I thought that it matched this image perfectly. The sentiment is from one of the House Mouse Christmas collection of stamps. I've used some green and red mirri card to mount everything onto, and added some ribbon in both of these colours. The poinsettias and swirls are from a Marianne Die, the centres are from a Nellie Snellen punch.

Why don't you pop over to Judith's blog and see what Forgotten Friday is all about.

CD Sunday - Nautical

This weeks challenge at the CD Sunday blog is Nautical, and it fell just right for me this week, as I had to make a card for a male 65th Birthday. I have chosen to use this lovely picture from Joanna Sheen's Thomas Kincaid CD. I have been a fan of this artist for a long time, but have never had the money to buy any of his work. This CD means I get to look at it any time I want.

For this card I have used a large square card base, made by folding the end over of an A4 sheet and adding another piece of card to the back. The backing paper is from the maps section on the CD, but the colour was stronger than I wanted it, so I took it into MCS and used the opacity function to lighten it, I mounted it onto some matt silver mirri card. I also took the topper into MCS so that I could add the text to it, this is also mounted onto matt silver mirri card. Then I found some cord that I've had in the cupboard for sometime and tied some boating knots and added them as embellishments.

Forgotten Friday 25 - Breath of Spring

I don't know where the time goes these days, I can't believe that it's Friday again. That means that it's time to find something that's been forgotten or neglected and make something with it. This week I have used a stamp from Chocolate Baroque called Breath of Spring, this was a guild stamp sometime ago. I started this card by first using a Martha Stewart around the page punch that I bought the other weekend at the Newbury Art Stamps show, I used a memento ink pad in New Sprout to add a little colour around the edge of this. Next I stamped the image and coloured it using promarkers, then cut it down to fit the punched mat. Then distressed it slightly with Vintage Photo distress ink and ran the ink pad around the edge to make the edges darker. The backing paper used is from the Artylicous Fantasy Floral CD, and mounted that onto some gold mirri card, a little bit of lilac ribbon added to the bottom and some flowers that match.  All this was finish off on a 6x6 card base made from a piece of green centura pearl card.

CD Sunday - Handbags

This week over at the CD Sunday blog it's Handbags. I knew that I had a lovely template for one in MCS, from the Encyclopedia collection. It was just a case of deciding what backing paper to choose. In the end I picked this great backing paper from the Advanced Paper Flower Expert CD. After cutting it out, I found some flowers that matched, which I had coloured myself and then sprayed with silver spray and sparkle. I just added some really small flowers to the centres and some heart shaped brads. The leaves were made with a Nellie Snellen punch, and the swirls are from a Marianne die. I added a button to the little closure flap which also has a bit of sticky backed hook and loop holding it in place.

Forgotten Friday 24 - Rock and Roll

How this week has flown by, it's Friday once again and time for all things Forgotten and neglected. This week I have used one of the images from the Debbi Moore set, Funky Divas. I bought this set some time ago and this is the first time that I have used it. I stamped the image onto some white card stock and then cut it out using a Nellie Snellen die, the sentiment was also part of the same set. I coloured it using Promarkers in shades of pink, then to break the colour from being all pink, I brushed some colour from one of the Big and Juicy ink pads around the edges. Although I have the CD that goes with the stamps, I decided to use a backing paper that was a free download from Bearly Mine , I think that it suited the image perfectly. I opened it in MCS and then lightened the pink slightly, and before sticking it to the card I went around the outside with the same shade I used on the image to tie it all together. I then just added a bit of ribbon and some faux brads.

Why don't you see if you have any unused craft stash in your cupboards. Make something with it, then post it on your blog. Pop along to Judith's blog, leave her a comment, then she will come and see what you have made. This is a fun challenge and anything goes, as long as it's something you have not used in a while or even haven't used at all. So go and have a rummage, and come and join us.

CD Sunday - Christmas Is Calling

The Challenge this week over at the CD Sunday blog this week is Christmas calling. I found it a little hard to get in the Christmas mood, as I have just returned from holiday, but I eventually managed it. I have chosen to use Joanna Sheen's Messy Rabbit's Christmas CD and made this adorable Snowman.

For this card I printed directly onto the card base, then printed a sheet of toppers. I used the 2 largest toppers off of the sheet using one to decoupage slightly. I then used some matching card and matted and layered, putting the layers at an angle for a change. Then using the leftovers from the mats I made a spellbinders snowflake. The sentiment was made on the PC and matted onto the same card. Then I just added some Crystal Stickles to the tops of the hills.

Forgotten Friday 23 - Art Deco

I'm a couple of days late with posting this weeks Forgotten Friday project, well a week really. I have just returned from a week in the Yorkshire Dales, and I had this card ready to post before I went last week, but didn't quite make it. Still it means that I don't have to rush and make one in a hurry this week.

I stamped the image in black Memento ink and coloured it using promarkers, adding a small amount of stickles on the headdress. I then cut it with a nestie, and mounted it onto a matt silver backing cut with another spellbinders die. The backing paper is from  Debbi Moore's Glitter and Glitz Magic moments CD. I found that I had some peel off corners which are in the art deco style, I can't remember when I bought these, but I haven't bought any for a couple of years. The flowers were some that I had in my stash along with the feathers. The greeting was made on the PC.

Why don't you have a rummage and see what unused stash you have in your cupboards. Make something, post it on your blog, pop over to Judith's blog, leave her a comment, then she will come and visit your blog.
